The Simpson’s will remain on Fox through spring of 2012! Today Fox announced that it had officially ordered a 23rd season of the show and this means that it will be able to surpass its 500th episode.
In 2009 Fox had given show producer Gracie Films the choice to opt in for a 23rd season and it looks like they did just that.
Al Jean, executive producer stated..
“Like many 22-year-olds, The Simpsons is extremely happy remaining at home, on Fox, and hopes it doesn’t have to go out into the real world for many years to come.”
Only Lassie and Gunsmoke have produced more series episodes on primetime television with 588 and 635 episodes respectively.
