Steve Carell and director Charles McDougall, who directed Carrell in The Office and won an Emmy for the pilot episode of Desperate Housewives, are to work together in bringing the magician comedy Burt Wonderstone to the big screen.
The project began in 2006 and tells the story of a middle-aged magician in Las Vegas who has his popularity stolen by a young up-comer.
New Line Cinema hope to start shooting in the fall.
