Elizabeth Banks is in talks to play Effie Trinket in The Hunger Games.
Her character is a slightly naive yet perfectionistic woman who will escort the lead protagonists, Katniss and Peeta, from their home in District 12 to the games in the Capital.
Katniss is to be played by Jennifer Lawrence, Oscar nominee in this year’s Winter’s Bone, while Josh Hutcherson will take on Peeta.
The film is to be directed by Gary Ross.
