So apparently last night was possibly the last time we will see some of the recurring characters and actors/actresses on FX’s original series AMERICAN HORROR STORY. According to executive producer, Ryan Murphy, each season will consist of a different ‘haunting’. A new story line, and house, will be featured in season two and every subsequent season there after. Here’s what Murphy had to say:
“The next year of the show – every season of the show – will be a different haunting,” the co-creator said in aconference call with reporters. “So what you saw in the finale was the end of the Harmon house, and the second season of the show will be a brand new home or building to haunt.” He added: ”Just like this year, every season of the show will have a beginning, a middle and an end.”
As a fan of the show, I’m a little in between about this direction. Obviously there are some characters which have become viewer-favorites so should they not return, there is always the possibility of a decline in ratings. Murphy has said that any cast members who make it back for season 2 will be playing all brand new characters. It might be kind of difficult to see familiar faces as different people, or creatures. But the show has been a success so far, so maybe Murphy and the rest of the producers know exactly what they’re doing. How do you feel about this route the show is being taken in? Let us hear you ‘Horror’ thoughts…
