Every Monday, we highlight one song that you may not have heard of, may not have heard in ages, or one that we just can’t seem to get out of our heads. Enjoy!

Last night’s Mad Men season 5 premiere was a fantastic episode and I can’t get the latest developments out of my brain! Did you watch the episode?  If you watched or even if you missed it, check out our recap of the episode here.

What do you think this song’s inclusion over the end credits means in relation to the show? It could show some insight into the new Mr. and Mrs. Draper, who apparently have an…interesting love life, given that post-party clean up scene. Check out the full lyrics below and share your thoughts in the comments!

Lyrics:

When I said I needed you
You said you would always stay
It wasn’t me who changed but you
And now you’ve gone away

Don’t you see
That now you’ve gone
And I’m left here on my own
That I have to follow you
And beg you to come home?

You don’t have to say you love me
Just be close at hand
You don’t have to stay forever
I will understand
Believe me, believe me
I can’t help but love you
But believe me
I’ll never tie you down

Left alone with just a memory
Life seems dead and so unreal
All that’s left is loneliness
There’s nothing left to feel

You don’t have to say you love me
Just be close at hand
You don’t have to stay forever
I will understand
Believe me, believe me

You don’t have to say you love me
Just be close at hand
You don’t have to stay forever
I will understand
Believe me, believe me, believe me

About Kristal Bailey

With a soft spot for movies that fall into the “So Bad They’re Good” category, she regularly watches B-movies, 80s comedies, and sci-fi from the 50s and 60s. She also refuses to grow up if that means she has to hide her love for Disney and Pixar films. In her free time, she enjoys reading graphic novels or books that are soon to be turned into movies, watching hours and hours of television, and spending way too much time on Twitter.
