Lollapalooza returns to Grant Park in Chicago this summer with a stellar lineup, as reported by the Chicago Tribune this evening.

Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Black Keys, and Black Sabbath will serve as the headliners for the three-day festival, which boasts a very exciting and eclectic group of middle-tier of performers, including Jack White, Florence + The Machine, Justice, The Shins, Passion Pit, Sigur Ros, The Weeknd, M83, Miike Snow, Bloc Party, Avicii, Franz Ferdinand, Metric and a pair of reunited ’90s rock bands, The Afghan Whigs and At the Drive-In.

Fans of alt-rock, blues, and folk (like me!) will be thrilled with the undercard as well, with impressive acts such as Delta Spirit, tUnE-yArDs, The Head and the Heart, Dr. Dog, Toro y Moi, Of Monsters and Men, Alabama Shakes, The Walkmen, fun., The Tallest Man on Earth, Blind Pilot, Dum Dum Girls, The War on Drugs, Bombay Bicycle Club, Aloe Blacc, and White Rabbits filling out the weekend.

While the lineup as a whole gets a passing grade by this particular observer, it is noticeably dry in terms of hip hop acts, with Childish Gambino, J. Cole, and Frank Ocean being the only real standouts.

Lollapalooza will take place from August 3-5. Tickets are on sale now at lollapalooza.com/tickets.
