Every Monday, we highlight one song that you may not have heard of, may not have heard in ages, or one that we just can’t seem to get out of our heads. Enjoy!
I’ve been on a major Supernatural kick this holiday weekend since it’s all on Netflix Instant, and there was one particular scene I came across in Season 2. In the scene, a psychic is in a therapy session trying to not sound crazy but then walks out to his car and is stabbed. While the scene itself was nothing special, it was the soundtrack that took it to another level. All the action happened with very little dialogue over the song “White Rabbit” by Jefferson Airplane.
Listen to the track here:
One pill makes you larger
And one pill makes you small,
And the ones that mother gives you
Don’t do anything at all.
Go ask Alice
When she’s ten feet tall.
And if you go chasing rabbits
And you know you’re going to fall,
Tell ‘em a hookah smoking caterpillar
Has given you the call.
When she was just small.
When the men on the chessboard
Get up and tell you where to go
And you’ve just had some kind of mushroom
And your mind is moving low.
Go ask Alice
I think she’ll know.
When logic and proportion
Have fallen sloppy dead,
And the White Knight is talking backwards
And the Red Queen’s “off with her head!”
Remember what the dormouse said:
“Feed your head. Feed your head. Feed your head”
