Last we saw from Michel Gondry was the negatively critic reviewed The Green Hornet. I actually enjoyed that film but then again, I seem to like everything that Seth Rogen does. The We and I is a giant switch from the The Green Hornet. In The We and I we follow a group of high school kids from the Bronx on the bus ride home from their last day of school before summer begins. This film is set to premiere at the Cannes Film Festival this week, but unfortunately I will not be there to check this film out. The trailer gives us small window into what this film actually encompasses. The rumors floating around hint that this film actually has some sort of time travel element to it which would make for an interesting twist in the plot, however we see nothing to further that rumor in this particular trailer.
The We and the I is the heartfelt and comical story of the final bus ride home for a group of young high school students and graduates. As kids depart the bus for the last time, we get to learn about these graduates as they step into the world – their love, their conflicts, their despair and their hope
Although we have no set US release date for this film, I am sure we will have more information in the coming week during Cannes. The film looks to be pretty good so if you happen to be in Cannes for the festival, I would definitely pick up a ticket for this one.
