X-Men: First Class, Rise of the Planet of the Apes and Thor all have new release dates for their very highly anticipated sequels.
First off, X-Men: First Class 2, which is not the official title, will be in theaters on July 18th, 2014. Shooting on the film will begin around January 2013, with most of the original cast returning. Matthew Vaughn is going to be directing again with a script that he assisted in with his partner Jane Goldman and screenwriter Simon Kinberg.
Secondly, the Rise Of the Planet of the Apes sequel has been officially given the title Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. It will be in theaters on May 23rd, 2014. Andy Serkis will reprise his motion-capture role as Caesar, and Rupert Wyatt will be directing again. Scott Z. Burns is currently working on the script.
Thirdly, the sequel for Thor will be in theaters on November 8th, 2013. It will begin production is a few months with confirmed returning cast members Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Anthony Hopkins and Natalie Portman with new director Alan Taylor and a villain, which has not be named yet, being played by Mads Mikkelsen.
Some other movie news, Steven Spielberg’s Robopocalypse has been pushed back a year and will instead be released on April 25th, 2014. Independence Day 3D and Lone Ranger will be in theaters on July 3rd, 2013.
