UPDATED: A HOCUS POCUS sequel might happen

UPDATED: Rumors had begun swirling that a Hocus Pocus sequel was in development, but Disney has put the rumors to rest telling a  Huffington Post rep, ”The studio is not developing a sequel to Hocus Pocus. So that’s that. Many people had mixed feelings about this, running the gamut between hoping that with a good story line and returning characters it could work or that a sequel shouldn’t be made because the original one is childhood classic and doesn’t need a sequel. What did you think about this news? Did you want a sequel? Happy there is not one in development?

Rumors have started indicating that the 1993 released beloved Halloween film might have get a sequel. Movie Hole says, apparently Disney is working on making it and it will be titled Hocus Pocus 2: Rise of the Elderwitch. There is not much mention on the director and other cast and crew yet, but when you think about it, they will probably head into a completely different direction with this sequel adding a new cast and crew.

The first film’s synopsis was:

After 300 years, three sister witches are resurrected in Salem Massachusetts on Halloween night, and it us up to two teenagers, a young girl, and an immortal cat to put an end to the witches reign of terror once and for all.

Hocus Pocus is one of those films that has become a tradition for many people to watch each year for Halloween. It’s a classic film that is in everyone’s Halloween collection. A sequel might not be the best of ideas for a movie like this. It’s perfect the way it is. They don’t need to do a sequel, although the idea does sound amusing. This is one of those films that I think they need to leave alone and not make a sequel, unless they really have a brilliant sequel plot. What do you guys think about this news? Would you want to see a Hocus Pocus sequel? Would you want the original cast back? The only way I’d be okay with a sequel for this is if they cast me in this sequel and if it’s actually a brilliant plot. Sound off below! Please share your thoughts!
