This week we enter Paul Thomas Andersons skewed vision of love, fate and romance by digging into the pudding and harmonium fuelled world of PUNCH DRUNK LOVE. From unconventional casting to symbolic colour schemes and underlying theories, this left field look at one man’s expanding world is a definite treat to watch, whether you actually like the film or not.
TRASH BAG MASTERPIECE
With each of our picks we’re challenged to counteract the good and the great with the bad and the simply horrible. With a current rating of 1.7 on IMDB, you can imagine this week’s TBM is pretty bad. But it isn’t until you see questionable blend of possessed cats, fire breathing dads, creepy old men and psychotic toy monkeys that you can get a real sense of wonderfully horrendous it really is.
For our next pick Mal brought something a little challenging to the table, but with potential rewards a plenty it’s definitely worth checking out. An inspiring and influential film from the grandmaster Akira Kurosawa, our next entry into Film Club is Seven Samurai. Now if you cant get or dont have access to a copy dont worry as we have embedded the movie below, so you dont need even need to leave the comfort of this page to join us on the next step of our journey. Well except to talk about the movie in our FILM CLUB FORUMS over at Facebook.
