SDCC ’12: FIREFLY Panel and Press Conference Now Online

As a die-hard Browncoat, the unparalleled highlight of San Diego Comic-Con TV was the Firefly 10th Anniversary Reunion. I watched the show on FOX during it’s brief run on air and have been pretty fanatical about it ever since. It brought a fresh perspective to the space opera while giving us beloved characters like Kaylee, River, Wash, Jayne and so on.

The line for the panel in Ballroom 20 was intense and basically filled up the night before or in the wee hours, so unfortunately I wasn’t able to attend that magical moment. Luckily, they’ve posted the panel in full online! Watch it here:

The tears, the memories…it’s a fantastic watch for any Firefly fan.

As for the press conference, I was lucky enough to attend that and get an inside look in to how the cast is today and their thoughts on the series. I live-tweeted from inside the press conference, but in case you missed it you can watch that all online as well:

In addition to their presence at Comic Con, the panel and press conference footage will be used in a new Firefly reunion special that will air on the SCIENCE channel. The hour-long special will feature exclusive footage from the Comic-Com panel featuring series creator Joss Whedon, stars Nathan Fillion, Alan Tudyk, Summer Glau, Adam Baldwin, Sean Maher, show runner Tim Minear, and writer Jose Molina, as well as a behind-the-scenes roundtable facilitated by Entertainment Weekly’s Jeff Jensen. BROWNCOATS UNITE will unearth defining memories from both sides of the camera and feature first-person accounts from the individuals who made the franchise a modern classic.

Are you excited for the upcoming special? Share your favorite episode of the series in the comments!

About Kristal Bailey

With a soft spot for movies that fall into the “So Bad They’re Good” category, she regularly watches B-movies, 80s comedies, and sci-fi from the 50s and 60s. She also refuses to grow up if that means she has to hide her love for Disney and Pixar films. In her free time, she enjoys reading graphic novels or books that are soon to be turned into movies, watching hours and hours of television, and spending way too much time on Twitter.
