The debut trailer for Sightseers has finally arrived.
The new film from Ben Wheatley, the phenomenal director of Kill List and Down Terrance, it tells the story of two idiosyncratic (and probably a little disturbed) British holiday-makers whose visit to Yorkshire spirals into violence and bloodshed.
This blend of quant British realism with splashes of intense ultra-violence makes Sightseers look very, very promising. Think The Trip meets Badlands by way of Natural Born Killers. All of which is hammered home by some laugh-out-loud dialogue, delivered with dead-pan brilliance by lead actors Steve Oram and Alice Lowe.
Sightseers is produced by Edgar Wright and debuted to critical acclaim when it was first shown at the Cannes Film Festival in May.
