Michael Keaton (Batman, Beetlejuice) is playing a villain again. THR reports that the actor has signed on to play the villain in Jose Padilha‘s RoboCop reboot for MGM and Columbia Pictures. Hugh Laurie was at one time in negotiations, but dropped out last week. He joins Joel Kinnaman, Gary Oldman, and Samuel L. Jackson in the film.
Here is what Padilha had to say about the casting news:“Michael is the final addition to the amazing cast we have assembled for this film, and it is so great to have the last puzzle piece in place. It is thrilling that everything has come together to bring this innovative new vision of RoboCop to life. We’ve got a great script, a great cast, some killer ED-209s, and I can’t wait to get Alex Murphy back on the streets.”
If you are worried about Keaton having what it takes to be a villain, remember that he was a pretty mean villain in Pacific Heights. Do you think he is a good addition to the cast?
