From superheroes to American presidents, let’s take a quick look at some of the major stories that hit the web today including the news that Joss Whedon has signed on for The Avengers 2 and Mickey Rourke will return for Sin City: A Dame To Kill For. JOSS WHEDON SIGNS ON FOR THE AVENGERS 2 AND PLANS TO CREATE MARVEL TV SERIES
With the biggest box office weekend in the history of cinema, it hardly comes as a surprise that The Avengers writer and director Joss Whedon was approached to make the sequel. Thankfully, he accepted the gig today according to Disney’s CEO and Chairman Bob Iger. Whedon is also planning to create a Marvel based TV series for ABC too, which I’m sure is destined to be a bigger success than his last small screen ventures…

“I’ll… free… your… slaves! I’LL FREE THEM ALL!” Okay, we probably shouldn’t expect the eccentric genius of Daniel Day Lewis’ Oscar winning role in There Will Be Blood, but the acclaimed actor is certain to light to screen this Christmas in Steven Spielberg’s biopic Lincoln. Below is the first official still from the film, and no it doesn’t show him slaying vampires. On a side note, it was also reported today that Day Lewis never once stepped out of character while on the film’s set. Whether he spent most of that time bemused by the modern technology has not yet been confirmed.
ROURKE RETURNS FOR SIN CITY: A DAME TO KILL FOR
So it really is happening this time! After delays upon delays for the past five years or so, Sin City‘s much anticipated sequel looks set to finally begin shooting in the near future. Returning to Frank Miller’s noir-ish universe is Mickey Rourke who will reprise his role as Marv.
