First time feature film director Andres Muschietti takes his Spanish short film to the next level with acting powerhouse Jessica Chastain. Chastain has also attracted high-profile roles in the new release Lawless, Kathryn Bigelow‘s Zero Dark Thirty, and the title character in the 2013 dual release The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby: His/Hers.
Mama definitely has an exciting concept, and if Chastain gives a first-rate performance, that’s more than we can say about the acting in other modern horror films! Mama arrives in theaters January 18, 2013.
