THE TO-DO LIST – Aubrey Plaza Wants More Sex

The-To-Do-List

The To-Do List comes out on Valentine’s Day 2013, however it’s not your classic rom-com, as the star of the movie Aubrey Plaza straight out tells you in the trailer below. I’m still iffy how I feel about her commentating her own trailer, but that’s a different issue. The movie looks like it is set in the ’80′s. Plaza plays a recent high school graduate who wants to experience more sex before heading off to college, hence the to-do list. I don’t think there are any hidden plot lines that are clear in this trailer. The real story is the talent involved with the film. It looks like a good time. I’m looking forward to seeing it.

A whole bunch of notable stars popped up in this short trailer besides Miss Plaza: Christopher Mintz-Plasse (or McLovin), Rachel Bilson (The O.C., Hart of Dixie), Clark Gregg (The New Adventures of Old Christine), Andy Sandberg (SNL, The Lonely Island), Alia Shawkat (Arrested Development), Bill Hader (SNL), Scott Porter (Friday Night Lights, Hart of Dixie), Donald Glover aka Childish Gambino (Community), Johnny Simmons (21 Jump Street), Nolan Gould (Modern Family), Adam Pally (Happy Endings), and my favorite Connie Britton (Friday Night Lights, upcoming Nashville). So, basically a comedy lover’s wet dream. This will be the directorial debut for Maggie Carey, who previously worked on Funny or Die.

The film received a lot of buzz when it premiered at the Sundance Film Festival last winter. Between the artsy cast and the Sundance stamp of approval I am sure it will do wonders with the film geek/hipster crowd, hopefully crossing over into commercial success. We will have to stay tuned and find out.

Here is the simple synopsis:

Feeling pressured to become more sexually experienced before she goes to college, Brandy Clark makes a list of things to accomplished before hitting campus in the fall.

About Theresa Amrhein

Living through post grad life after attending four years at Boston University where I studied Film & Television, and the art of being a stereotypical college student. I am currently employed at a media agency in the great city of New York, where I commute from my home, which I adore, Long Island (don't make fun). I'm very much obsessed with television, I heart NY sports, I frequent the cinemas, adore pop culture, love the beach and who doesn't enjoy a good celebrity scandal?
