5 Must-See Movies in December

Cheerful-Weather-For-The-Wedding_20

We know not everyone has time for every major release or big movie, so instead of featuring 10 great films a month, these are truly the ones that cannot be missed. They’ll either be films coming out in theaters that week or something on Netflix I think that’s worth the watch. The top four films for the month will be ones that have the a lot of buzz, an interesting story line and a cast that will definitely make the film great.

The month of December has lots of anticipated films, that also have a ton of buzz for awards season. I’ve actually changed it up this month and picked 5 movies instead. This works out well since people will likely have a bit more time and spending money to see movies this month with the holidays.

If you do check out anything I’ve spotlighted or think I left off a crucial film, tell us about it in the comments section below! Also check out past Four Must-See films posts.

Week 1: Cheerful Weather For The Wedding

Out in limited release on December 7. Directed by Donald Rice, the film stars Felicity Jones, Elizabeth  McGovern, Luke Treadaway, and Mackenzie Crook. I checked out the reviews for this film on Rotten Tomatoes and most of them are great.

Official Synopsis:

[box_light]On her wedding day, with just hours to go until the ceremony, a young woman’s future is suddenly thrown into chaos by the appearance of a former lover.” It seems like an interesting story! Since it is out in limited release it might be hard to find a theater showing it, so look all over![/box_light]

Week 2: The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey

Out in theaters on December 14th. Directed by Peter Jackson, we’re going back to middle earth!!! This is definitely one of the most anticipated films this month. The synopsis for those who don’t know “The adventure follows the journey of title character Bilbo Baggins, who is swept into an epic quest to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor from the fearsome dragon Smaug.” The film stars Martin Freeman, Ian McKellen, Richard Armitage, Andy Serkis, Aidan Turner, Elijah Wood and many others.

Here’s a production video blog from the film. Check out our article talking about the film being split into three!
