Is This How DEXTER Season 7 Will End?

It’s certainly been a fun season of Dexter, and I hope you guys have been enjoying my weekly recaps.  I was hanging out yesterday, not even thinking about Dexter, and I got hit with an epiphany. I have a feeling I know what the big twist is going to be as the season wraps up, with just two episodes left. And not to brag, but, well here we go. Last time I had a hunch like this, I was dead on (posted one month before the finale).

Ok so after last week, it looks like the main source of action and tension will be coming from LaGuerta (Lauren Valdez) and Matthews (Geoff Pierson). These two are hot on the trail of Dexter (Michael C. Hall) being the Bay Harbor Butcher, and my guess is by the end of next week’s episodes, they will have sufficient proof to know it was him. Not only that, but it’s likely that Dexter and/or Deb (Jennifer Carpenter) get wind of it, and most of the finale will revolve around this story line.

However, it’s the secondary story line where I see the action coming from.  In the last episode, Quinn (Desmond Harrington) murdered George (Jason Gedrick) after he threatened to send his girlfriend Nadia (Katia Winter)to a sex slave operation in Europe. In the moments after, Quinn thinks quickly, and has Nadia shoot him in the arm so he can call it self defense. However, Batista (David Zayas) didn’t buy it at first. He gave Quinn the benefit of the doubt, but I think this ultimately will be the big moment going down the road.

Quinn has already killed for Nadia. More importantly, he also took the key evidence against Issak , an incident that Batista also questioned Quinn about. Lastly, there is the tape that George kept to blackmail Quinn of him admitting he took the evidence, and that is still out in the open to be found, likely by the police as they search George’s office.

So what does this all mean? Here’s what I see happening. At some point in the next two episodes, Batista will find the tape, and he’ll know that not only did Quinn pull the evidence, but it’s much more likely he killed George in cold blood. In the finale, while all the attention will be on Dexter and LaGuerta, the tension here will slowly build up, and instead of LaGuerta and Dexter coming to a head, I think the big twist will be Quinn killing Batista.

Think about it. Quinn has already murdered for Nadia once, and they are already writing Batista out of the show. He is on the verge of “retiring” and owning his own restaurant, so it’s a perfect time to kill him while he’s still a “feature” character. I think this will be the last image of the season, with the LaGuerta-Dexter storyline still up in the air when Season 7 goes black. It certainly would make for a dramatic and wild ending!

What do you guys think? Is there any chance that Quinn will kill Batista? Or do you think that LaGuerta might end up dead, either through Dexter or Hannah? Or do you think it will be something else? We want to hear your theories in the comments!
