Crysis 3 will not be coming to the Wii-U. In the June of last year Crytek tried their infamous Crytek Engine 3 on the Wii-U to see how their latest instalment in the Crysis franchise would fair. Crytek CEO Cevat Yerli said the game ”actually runs beautifully,”. However in a recent interview with Digital Spy Yerli stated that Crysis 3 will not be making an appearance on the Wii-U primarily because ”there’s not enough business drive in it” saying that:
“It’s a purely business decision. I’d love to see it on Wii U, but what I love to see and what gets done at the end of the day are two different things. Even so, I could initiate it but someone has to sell it, right?..It’s a business decision between EA and Nintendo. If that business decision doesn’t make sense, or seems to not make sense for them, it’s… not possible for us to make it. We can’t publish ourselves, and that’s the bottom line.”
While the Crysis franchise will not be appearing on the Wii-U Yerli did say that a game was being developed for the Wii-U that uses the Crytek Engine. While there were doubts before the Wii-U came out about how it would sell, Crytek’s rejection of the console will have surely compounded these fears. Share your thoughts in the comments below!
