Love is in the air! It’s Valentine’s day month and Movies On Demand (MOD) delivers a variety of romantic titles from both the major studios and Indies that look at love from every angle, all getting their television premieres on MOD.

Here are some highlights of MOD premieres from the major studios in February. From the creators of Love, Actually and Notting Hill, comes About Time, the charming and touching story of love as experienced by a time travelling young Brit, played by Domhnall Gleeson, and the object of his desire, Rachel McAdams.  Fifteen years after the seminal film The Best Man, which was Taye Diggs’ first major role, comes The Best Man Holiday, where old romances are reignited and emotions heightened when a group of college friends reunite over the holiday season. In the “romcom” Baggage ClaimPaula Patton plays a flight attendant determined to find love within the 30 days before her younger sister’s impending wedding.

The Indies are equally smitten this month. In the highly praised film, The Broken Circle Breakdown, the bonds of love are tested to the limit over the backdrop of Bluegrass music.  Austenland is Twilight author Stephanie Meyer’s debut as a producer in whichKeri Russell plays a lovelorn young woman who immerses herself in a fantasy theme park based on famed author Jane Austen’s novels. Also in February, MOD is airing the ultimate romantic story, Romeo and Juliet, reimagined for the 21st Century, with Hailee Steinfeld and Douglas Booth as the ill-fated lovers. Winner of the Palme D’Or at the Cannes Film Festival is Blue is the Warmest Color, a powerful love story between a young female art student and a mysterious older girl.

Looking forward to Awards Season, the multi-nominated titles Gravity, Dallas Buyers Club, Nebraska and Foreign Film nominees The Great Beauty (Italy) and The Broken Circle Breakdown (Belgium) all premiere in February. (More info about Awards Season nominees and winners on MOD to come.)
