Neil Blomkamp’s ELSYIUM casts Wagner Moura as the villain and gets an official release date

A release date and a villain has been announced today for Neil Blomkamp’s ELSYIUM. The highly-anticipated sci-fi film is set for release on March 8, 2013 so that it can benefit from the spring break and Easter holiday.

The Media Rights Capital production has cast Brazilian actor Wagner Moura (ELITE SQUAD films). He’ll star alongside Matt Damon, Sharlto Copley and Jodie Foster and will be playing the villain. All that is known about film is that it’s set in a future world where Social class plays an integral part and Damon’s character is an ex-con.

ELSYIUM is the only film set for release for Easter weekend. This is a great time for the film to be released, you can expect it to likely kill at the box office.
