Mat Kearney’s "Young Love" Debuts Top 5 on Billboard 200 & #1 on Digital Albums Chart

Listeners and critics alike have fallen in love with Mat Kearney’s third full-length album and first for Universal Republic Records, Young Love. The album landed at #4 on the Billboard
Top 200 and #1 on the Top Digital Albums Chart selling 43,686 copies during its first week available.

From the moment it was released on August 2, the record became a phenomenon online. Young Love quickly moved up the iTunes album chart and became firmly planted at #1 spending a week in that position. In addition, “Ships in the Night” and first single “Hey Mama” took the #2 and #3 spots on the iTunes rock chart. “Hey Mama” actually jumped up 112% on iTunes, moving 12k digital copies in one week bringing total sales of the single up to 75k.

Critical acclaim for Young Love continues to pour in. Entertainment Weekly describes the album as “earnest folk-pop ditties, riding a sunny hip-hop beat”, while USA TODAY declares, “Kearney’s lilting hit “Hey Mama”, written for his wife of a little more than a year, only scratches the surface of this excellent album from the Nashville singer/songwriter”. Marie Claire says Young Love is “guaranteed to propel you forward”.
