Contest: Win IN TIME on DVD!

“Catch Me If You Can”

In Time Arrives on Blu-ray and DVD January 31

In the year 2161, time has become the ultimate currency and genetic alteration has allowed people to stop aging at 25 years old.  Upon reaching 25, the countdown begins and in order to stay alive everyone must work to buy themselves more time or die within a year.  When a struggling young man, Will Salas (Justin Timberlake), comes in contact with a “millionaire,” he is gifted more time than he can imagine.  Falsely accused of murder, Will is a fugitive on the run and becomes determined to bring down the entire system by any means possible.

Hollywood loves a good ‘cat and mouse’ pursuit and IN TIME has just the right amount of running and chasing scenes to have it make the cut. Here, we’ll list the top movies made where the protagonist spends the movie being chased all the way to the credits. Answer the trivia question at the bottom to be entered in to win a copy of the DVD too!

The Fugitive

In 1993’s The Fugitive, Harrison Ford stars as Dr. Richard Kimble, a man falsely accused of murdering his wife. Kimble is sentenced to death, but manages to escape and is compelled to search for his wife’s actual killer, a one-armed man. Deputy Samuel Gerard (Tommy Lee Jones) is then called to search for and capture the escaped convict. What results is a heart pounding, action packed film filled with exciting chase scenes and daring escapes as Kimble runs for his life in an attempt to bring justice to his wife’s murderer.

Catch Me If You Can

2002’s Catch Me If You Can is a biographical film based on the life on conman Frank Abagnale, Jr. (Leonardo DiCaprio). In the film, young Frank runs away from home after learning of his parents’ divorce, and falls into a life of crime, using his good looks, charm and intelligence to con his way into (and out of) virtually any situation. Unfortunately for him, his habit of creating fraudulent checks catches the attention of the FBI’s Carl Hanratty (Tom Hanks), who then makes it his personal mission to bring Frank to justice.

Conspiracy Theory

1997’s Conspiracy Theory stars Mel Gibson, Julia Roberts and Patrick Stewart. The film is the story of Jerry (Gibson), a cab driver who is obsessed with various conspiracy theories. Unfortunately for him, it turns out that many of his theories are actually fact, and the CIA is chasing him. As the CIA attempts to capture or assassinate him, Jerry must run for his life, making daring escapes and relying on the only person he trusts, Alice (Roberts).

Featuring a fantastic soundtrack from Queen, 1986’s Highlander is the tale of a group of immortals that must fight to the death until only one survives. The last immortal alive will receive supreme power over all mankind. Because of this stipulation, Connor MacLeod is forced to battle the other immortals and is stalked by The Kurgan over the course of 300 years, never allowing himself to stay in the same city for too long. This action packed cult classic stars Christopher Lambert as Connor MacLeod/Russell Nash, Clancy Brown as The Kurgan, and Sean Connery as Juan Sánchez Villa-Lobos Ramírez.

Natural Born Killers

1994’s Natural Born Killers is often noted as being one of the most censored films of all time, due to its graphic violence. The film tells the story of Mickey and Mallory, two psychopathic lovers who go on a killing spree across the southwest. Perpetually chased by the law, the duo only leaves one person alive at the scene of each of their murders, and the media glorifies their deranged antics. Natural Born Killers stars Woody Harrelson, Juliette Lewis, Robert Downey, Jr., Tom Sizemore and Tommy Lee Jones.

In her free time, she enjoys reading graphic novels or books that are soon to be turned into movies, watching hours and hours of television, and spending way too much time on Twitter.
