FRIENDS WITH KIDS trailer looks promising for first time director

Jennifer Westfeldt pulls triple duty in FRIENDS WITH KIDS. Westfeldt wrote, directed and is one of the stars in this upcoming film due to be released March 9, 2012. You may have seen Westfeldt’s previous work, KISSING JESSICA STEIN; she wrote and starred in that particular film. FRIENDS WITH KIDS is Westfeldt’s first outing as a director and I think she has made a good parlay into the director’s chair. Just by seeing the trailer, she seems to have made a very endearing and very funny movie. She did a great job by putting together a stellar cast: Kristen Wiig, Jon Hamm, Adam Scott, Maya Rudolph, Chris O’Dowd, Megan Fox, and Edward Burns. Such a great cast for a first-time director. We got to see a majority of this cast together in this previous summers’ raunchy comedy BRIDESMAIDS, so we know there is a good basis of chemistry between most of the actors. I honestly think this film will be successful if not at the box office, with the critics. The film first debuted at last year’s Toronto Film Festival with great reviews. I look forward to the coming press about this indie romcom and look forward even more to actually seeing the film. Check out the trailer below:

Synopsis:

Two best friends decide to have a child together while keeping their relationship platonic, so they can avoid the toll kids can take on romantic relationships.
