MAX PAYNE 3 – Rockstar Ready with Ban Hammer for Cheaters
The developer of the highly anticipated 3rd person shooter Max Payne 3, Rockstar Games, have announced that they will begin taking serious action against those who cheat in the games multiplayer modes. The way they are dealing with it is very unique and innovative, perhaps something other developers could adopt. They intend to group accused cheaters in a “cheaters pool” where they will only be able to play against other condemned players. If a player is absolved of their first time cheating offence then they are allowed to join the regular servers, however a second offence will lead to an indefinite ban.
If you are discovered using “hacked saves, modded games, or other exploits to gain an unfair advantage in Max Payne 3 Multiplayer, or to circumvent the leaderboards” you will be thrown into this pool of “confirmed miscreants”. What is not clear though is whether the cheaters will still be able to cheat in their pool- that’s a lot of cheating. However Rockstar did say in this announcement that certain cheats will be dealt with in forthcoming title updates.
If you want to report any players of cheating you must have evidence of them doing so and you can email your complaint to firstname.lastname@example.org with details of the players gamertag/id, platform and the violation itself.
