THE HUNGER GAMES, THE RAID: REDEMPTION and More Added to Movies On Demand for August

Stay inside, safe from the sweltering heat of August, and enjoy the latest movies added to Movies on Demand. We at Screen Invasion know it’s expensive to hit the theater for every film that piques your interest, so we love to share the latest movies that you can now enjoy in your home, whether it’s on DVD/Blu-Ray or on Movies on Demand.

Highlights of the new titles in August include the mega hit The Hunger Games which premieres on MOD the same day as the DVD release. Plus, families can spice up their summer with Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax, voiced by Danny Devito, Taylor Swift, Zac Efron, Ed Helms, Betty White and Rob Riggle, which is available in 3D and premieres on cable before Netflix & Redbox.  Plus, MOD presents the unedited version of Sacha Baron Cohen’s The Dictator available the same day as DVD.

In addition to these major theatrical releases, catch some films that may have never even made it to your local theater. MOD viewers also have access to a wealth of indie titles, a number of which premiere either the same day or before their theatrical release. Highlights of this month’s indie movies include the comedy The Babymakers, the horror title [REC] 3: Genesis, and Goats with David Duchovny and Vera Farmiga.  They’ll also be able to catch Kirsten Dunst in the dark comedy Bachelorette, Blair Underwood in Woman Thou Art Loosed: On the 7th Day,  The Raid: Redemption which received wide critical acclaim and the Australian hit Red Dog.  Also playing is this year’s Best Foreign film Academy Award winner A Separation and the comedy Bernie starring Jack Black. Side by Side is a documentary produced and narrated by Keanu Reeves about movie-making’s transition to digital, featuring some of Hollywood’s greatest directors. The month winds down with Darling Companion starring Diane Keaton and Kevin Kline and Sleepwalk With Me from the producers of NPR’s This American Life which won the “Best of NEXT Audience” award at Sundance 2012.  See complete list below.
