STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS – New Clip, Stills, and IMAX Poster

A new Star Trek Into Darkness clip and stills have arrived online. The clip shows Captain Kirk viciously confronting the calm villain. The film stars Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Karl Urban, Alice Eve, Jon Chu, Zoe Saldana, Simon Pegg, Anton Yelchin, Bruce Greenwood, Benedict Cumberbatch, and Peter Weller.

I know that people seem to complain about J.J. Abrams’ use of lens flares, but I actually love the style that he uses when directing his films. I think Abrams’ movies look awesome visually, and the lens flares add to his style. The colors look so vivid in the clips and trailers that I have seen. I bet this is going to look and sound great in IMAX. Either way, Into Darkness looks like it will be a wet dream for sci-fi fans and Trekkies alike. I for one am super excited.

Synopsis:

When the crew of the Enterprise is called back home, they find an unstoppable force of terror from within their own organization has detonated the fleet and everything it stands for, leaving our world in a state of crisis. With a personal score to settle, Captain Kirk leads a manhunt to a war-zone world to capture a one man weapon of mass destruction. As our heroes are propelled into an epic chess game of life and death, love will be challenged, friendships will be torn apart, and sacrifices must be made for the only family Kirk has left: his crew.
