Spoiler Forum – What did you think of WORLD WAR Z?

Join this week’s Spoiler Forum as we discuss World War Z, the Brad Pitt zombie apocalypse film that has swarmed its way into theaters this week. Marc Forster directs Brad Pitt, Mireille Enos, Daniella Kertesz, and James Badge Dale.

World War Z Synopsis:

[box style=”quote”]The movie revolves around United Nations employee Gerry Lane (Pitt), who traverses the world in a race against time to stop the Zombie pandemic that is toppling armies and governments and threatening to decimate humanity itself.[/box]

Segen Steals The Show

Actress Daniella Kertesz plays Segen, and Israeli Defense Force operative who is ordered to protect Brad Pitt’s character Gerry. She is one of the best parts of the film. I felt that she added a dose of energy to the film. For a bit in the middle World War Z  has a slow and somewhat boring pace, but when Segen is introduced the pacing picks up immensely.  On top of this she is absolutely stunning with her piercing eyes.

Brad Pitt Can’t be Killed

Pitt’s character Gerry and Segen make it onto the last plane left out of Jerusalem only to have a zombie on board. What do you do in a small space zombies are coming at you and all hope appears to be lost, you throw a hand grenade which sucks the zombies (and remaining living passengers) out the side of the plane. Did Pitt die from that? No he is somehow able to buckle himself into his seat before the plane crash lands in a field where his character and Segen are the only passengers that survive.

Not Your Typical Zombies

World War Z zombies are completely different from any prior zombie I have seen. They can run at breakneck speeds and have supersonic hearing. When they run it looks as if they are running on all-fours with their hands and feet. In addition, they use their bodies as battering rams. There is a rather odd sound, almost like a growl.
