Ben Affleck to Play Batman in MAN OF STEEL’s Batman vs. Superman Sequel

News broke late Thursday from The Wrap that Zack Snyder has locked in Ben Affleck to play the older Batman to battle Henry Cavill‘s Superman in the Man of Steel sequel, a yet to be titled Batman vs. Superman flick. When asked about his decision, Zack Snyder said:

“Ben provides an interesting counter-balance to Henry’s Superman. He has the acting chops to create a layered portrayal of a man who is older and wiser than Clark Kent and bears the scars of a seasoned crime fighter, but retain the charm that the world sees in billionaire Bruce Wayne. I can’t wait to work with him.”

While Affleck’s acting skills can’t be denied, I can’t help but be hesitant to see him encapsulate this role. As many people would like to forget, he already did the superhero thing as the title hero in Daredevil.
