LA Invasion: THE AMERICANS Serves Up Cold Vodka and The Cold War

Revenge is a dish best served cold. Wait, scratch that. Vodka is a drink best served cold. That’s better!

Last night, local LA press and a few of the great minds behind The Americans gathered at a local Vodka bar to celebrate the DVD/Blu-ray release of one of the best shows of 2013. I was lucky enough to be among them and let me tell you, more events should take place inside a “vodbox.”

The “vodbox” is a basically a freezing cold vodka tasting room, filled with over 80 different kinds of strong, delicious vodka. We were able to taste 3 different vodkas and frankly, they were all amazing. There was a quinoa grain vodka called Fair, a Salted Caramel vodka, and the last one we got to choose the flavor. I tried a chocolate vodka that really tasted like chocolate!

They also had goodies like the Americans inspired “Cold War Cosmo,” custom laser-etched phone cases, Russian Ushanka hats, as well as an opportunity to chat with Executive Producers of The Americans – Graham Yost, Darrel Frank, and Justin Falvey.

Check out pictures from the event below and don’t forget to pick up The Americans Season 1 available on February 11.

With a soft spot for movies that fall into the “So Bad They’re Good” category, Kristal Bailey regularly watches B-movies, 80s comedies, and sci-fi from the 50s and 60s. She also refuses to grow up if that means she has to hide her love for Disney and Pixar films.

In her free time, she enjoys reading graphic novels or books that are soon to be turned into movies, watching hours and hours of television, and spending way too much time on Twitter.
