A lot happened this Sunday on Homeland and it was nothing short of suspense and thrill.  After last weeks episode I was a bit stressed on how the rest of the season would play out.  I did not expect any of what happened this episode.  Carrie gave me a bit of a

Another week has come and gone of Showtime’s hit series, Homeland.  After last week’s episode I had a lot of questions that were really itching under my skin.  Would Carrie be blinded by the sexual tension between her and Brody? Would Dana spill the beans on her recent hit-and-run with Finn?  Is there

Maybe were all in store for a major attack on America, when this season ends because a lot of doors opened Sunday night on Homeland.  If Brody’s interrogation and turn back to the good side wasn’t enough, the sixth episode provided the first casualties of the season.  Questions were also answered on some

Zombies, walkers, undead, the walking dead. All of these have been used to scare viewers into believing a zombie apocalypse is imminent. The word ‘rage’, however, had not been but into their minds until 2002. Danny Boyle has had a decorated career so far, directing hits such as Slumdog Millionaire and Trainspotting. He tackled something a little bit different in the sci-fi thriller, 28 Days Later. Filmed differing from most zombie classics, Boyle tackled the genre in a quite original way.

After last weeks episode Homeland had a lot to live up to.  With Brody’s capture, I was very curious to see where and how far they would take their interrogations. The interrogations were absolutely brilliant .  They were so well written, that I felt like I was in the exact same room with

After a so-so reception from the post-apocalyptic film The Road, director John Hillcoat is back with a great American gangster film, Lawless. This gritty, violent prohibition-era tale packs a hell of a punch with its graphic violence, a very distinct atmosphere, outstanding acting, and a few laughs here and there.

The film follows Jack Bondurant and his two brothers set in Franklin County, Virginia in the 1930s. Shia Lebeouf plays Jack, the youngest of his brothers. This role was a very simple character, but was made so much more with Lebeouf’s best work to date, although he wasn’t alone in the process. The cast around Lebeouf really form this story into a great film.

As said before, this film follows three brothers all in the business of bootlegging moonshine in the prohibition era. A vast reputation has made them somewhat of legends in Franklin County, VA, which makes them seem to be ‘above the law.’ Tom Hardy plays Forrest Bondurant, the leader of the three, and the ‘silent but lethal’ of the group, and is known by legend to be ‘indestructible.’ Jason Clarke plays Howard Bondurant, the bruiser of the three brothers, who also enjoys his moonshine. Guy Pearce plays Charlie Rakes, a special deputy from Chicago who will stop nothing short of murder, violence, and corruption to stop the Bondurant brothers. Add Gary Oldman as Chicago gangster Floyd Banner, and you have all the ingredients for chaotic gangster drama.
